Lincoln, NE
BNSF operates through town on the western end of the Creston Sub, which connects to the Ravenna Sub, and onwards towards Alliance and the Powder River Basin coalfields.
I have to admit that I like Lincoln a lot. I rate it as one of the nicer cities in America that I have visited. Small in size and with a relaxed atmosphere, Lincoln Downtown is blessed with lots of shops and restaurants, as well as the Memorial Stadium, where the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team play. When full, the stadium holds more people than any other Nebraska city except Lincoln and Omaha. The Burlington Railroad Depot no longer sees trains, the tracks being moved away only recently, but there is an old steam locomotive parked up to remind everyone of the heritage.
