Some of my first attempts at nighttime photography took place on my All Line Rover tickets. Here is 47461 "Charles Rennie Mackintosh" at the head of the 23.06 Edinburgh to Inverness sleeper train. I took a few shots before stepping aboard for the overnight journey on the Highland mainline, sharing a berth with an American scientist as I recall. That's the thing with travelling in these sleeper trains in second class, you never know who you'll end up sharing with, but fortunately this gentleman was interesting and good company!And how we miss those Scottish internal sleeper trains, will they return I wonder? For the record the shot was taken with a 28mm lens, f5.6 at 12 seconds.I bracketed a few images, and this was one of the better results!
