Shap Wells before breakfast! At 08.23 the driver of DRS Class 88006 "Juno" will be focusing on holding his train on the gradient down the hill towards Tebay. This is 4M27, the 05.48 Mossend Euroterminal to Daventry DRS Stobart Rail/Tesco intermodal, more-or-less on time.
I wasn't quite sure how to capture this train as the location, on the back road leading to the Shap Wells Hotel, is not the greatest, being spoilt by cables, pylons and uncontrolled line-side growth. But afterwards I framed the train and used the dry stone wall to lead the eye up towards the train. Not a masterpiece, but I was quite pleased with the result.
Once the train had passed it was back for my bacon and eggs!
