Here's a sign to challenge the hardened enthusiast! It was a Saturday afternoon and the Belgium Grand Prix was in progress. A tentative enquiry at the portacabin that passed for the yard office to see if we could take a few photos was met with a dismissive "do what you want but keep off the mainline!" The guys inside were transfixed on the TV screen and did not appreciate the interruption. So after a quick look around we looked ahead towards the far end of the old marshalling yard and the site of the diesel depot, and off we went. Traipsing through the weeds and scrub, once the site of South Wales' major hump yard, it resembled more of a nature reserve, and in the summer sun was a delightful walk. The TMD grew nearer....!
