(1) XC HST - my final shot! Well, for me it's over. Tomorrow is the last day for long-distance travel in British Rail's iconic passenger train. Curiously there were no diagrammed HSTs today, only an empty stock working. However, as the 1V52 York to Plymouth "Voyager" was running very late the ECS was commandeered to become a fill-in passenger service!. So this train started out as 5Z43 09.23 Neville Hill T&RSMD to Laira T&RSMD, but became the 1Z52 12.12 Birmingham New Street to Plymouth. The train passes me at Creech at 15.07, headed by power car no. 43366 "HST 40", with no. 43303 on the back. Another added curiosity was the fact that this train ran via Bath Spa, Westbury and the route to Cogload due to engineering work at Worle. You can watch the train power past as it approaches Taunton by viewing my You Tube video: https://youtu.be/KL0J6dRDctA
