In the then relatively new DB Schenker scheme, Class 60 no. 60059 "Swinden Dalesman" passes the station site at 16.05 on the long distance 6E47 13.45 Margam to Middlesbrough loaded steel carriers on the up slow line. In fact, this might have been one of the longest-range domestic freight services at the time. This is another of my views taken from the pleasant location of the footbridge east of the village. The tower of St. Mary's Church looks over the scene.
