Yatton, North Somerset

Opened in 1841 by the Bristol and Exeter Railway, this was the junction station for the branches to Clevedon and Cheddar. It's well-worth the visit if you in the area. A bay platform for the Clevedon line was once provided on the up side of the station, leaving to the west and north, and the platform canopy remains on this side the line, alomg with the main station building. Another bay was located on the south side, this for the Cheddar branch, or "Strawberry Line" as it was known: this is the name to a footpath that now exists for walkers to use today. There is even a cafe in the down side station building named the Strawberry Line Cafe.

The station still exudes a lot of Great Western Railway atmosphere, with the original buildings and replica GWR station benches. It does seem to be well-used. For photography the views south towards the up and down goods loops is not bad, although the line is dead straight in that direction.
