Taunton Fairwater Yard despatches many infrastructure trains to all parts of the system, although mostly within the "Western" region. However, at 10.30 Freightliner Class 66 no. 66531 approaches the station at a steady pace with the 4E18 09.47 Taunton Fairwater Yard to Doncaster Wood Yard, the train being made up of 16 IFA bogie sleeper carriers with a full load of used sleepers, no doubt for recycling or re-use. The multi-coloured stanchions on the wagons brighten-up the train!

In the distance is are the up and down goods loops, protected on both sides by colour light signals with "feather" indicators.
