Whimple, Devon

I've not taken many photos here. It's single track here and for many years trains used the down line, meaning that passengers had to use the footbridge for every train, as the entrance and station was on the up side! The reason for this odd arrangement was because the goods yard was still used for Whiteways Cider traffic, and the headshunt for the yard was the old up line, with a connection at the far east end. Once the yard closed and after Whiteways finished using rail transport, the opportunity was taken to remodel the area and put the up line back into service, and remove the old down line, along with the platform and shelter.
