"Slim-Jim" Class 33 no. 33203 runs non-stop through Whimple on the Fridays-only 1V12 11.11 Brighton to Penzance service. The train is passing through the old down platform, the only one in use at the time. The track on the left is, in actual fact, the head shunt for the sidings in the goods yard. The station building was not in railway use if I recall correctly, this being a un-staffed station by now. A lot has changed since this image was taken. The down platform and track has long been demolished and all trains now use the former up line, which has been brought back in to use, as has the platform. The goods yard has been built over, but the station building remains.
