23rd Oct 1986 - Whimple, Devon
A view through the gates into the yard, with a single Cargowaggon sat waiting to be loaded with pallets of Whiteways Cider and be taken away by a trip freight from Exeter. There was plenty of old Southern architecture at this location at this time, including the goods shed. It's an aspect of the old Southern route that has long gone, and today no regular freight traverses the route. I never saw the trip freight myself, but I am glad to have recorded this scene, as now the site is covered with houses.
