The Midland Pullman had visited the South Devon Riviera today and I catch it on its return home in the evening. At 17.03 HST power car no. 43047 leads no. 43049 "Neville Hill" working the 1Z44 15.30 Paignton to Doncaster, the "Torbay Riviera Pullman". It was a lovely late summer afternoon, with linnets crying in the air and the distant sound of hay being gathered (it has been a long, dry spell).
