(2) EWS Class 66 no. 66063 rests in the yard at 11.15, attached to a rail train. The very attractive Grade II-listed North Eastern signal box was built in 1896. The other attraction at this station was this wonderful lattice bracket signal at the west end, but I've since discovered that it has since been replaced by a colour light signal. Glad I saw it when I did. As of 2019 Hexham box controls just two semaphores!
