Hexham, Northumberland
In the process of writing this I discovered that Hexham station is one of the oldest station buildings in the world, being built in 1835! Located a long way from home, my visits here have been far and few between, but its traditional signalling and location close to Hadrian's Wall and Scotland mean that it's a place worth hiking out to. The route between Carlisle and Newcastle can also offer some interesting traffic.
