The "St. Bernard Express" is standing in the bay platform, made up of railcar no. 7 "Martigny" (537.507) and trailer no. 32, at 11.22. This is the Martigny-Orsieres Railway (M.O.). The journey takes around half an hour and takes visitors to Orsieres, a popular resort in the Alps. St. Bernard is, as you might expect, the origin of the breed of dog of the same name, long-associated with Switzerland and mountain rescue. I wonder if they really did put a small barrel of reviving schnapps around their necks?
