14th May 2008

At 13.07 Class 66 no. 66197 is heading down towards Par, at Tywarddreath, with the 6P07 (WFO) 12.15 Fowey Docks to Treviscoe empty china clay train. The train is made up of CDA 4 wheel wagons, a feature of these trains since 1988, and now showing their age. Many have already been taken out of service as the level of traffic has declined, but the is still daily china clay traffic in Cornwall, and hopefully will continue to be the case for some time. I had seen this train earlier that day, leaving Carne Point, Fowey, at Golant.
