This is the train that I wanted to see, not appreciating at the time what it might be. All I knew was that it was 6Z66 13.25 Longtown MOD - Llanwern Exchange Sidings. Not until it turned up, on time at 15.17, that it was revealed as a train of twenty one JSA telescopic hood bogie steel carriers, being moved out of store from the MOD site to the steel plant in South Wales. Hauled by Freightliner 66529, the train entered the loop here to allow a southbound Pendolino to overtake it (9M84) and left at 15.29. 66529 then took the train south, and a day later was working off Stoke Gifford yard in Bristol.
