UP Overland Route along the Lincoln Highway, NE

When visiting friends in Hastings, NE, I have flown in and out of Omaha. A drive along the Lincoln Highway, Highway 30, allows you to parallel the UP mainline west from Fremont all the way to Grand Island and beyond to North Platte, and if you catch it right you'll be treated to a constant succession of trains, albeit mostly hauled by armour yellow units of the UP. This is the original transcontinental mainline to the west, and there are plenty of locations along the route to stop and shoot trains.
