4th Sept 1989

I'm looking back towards the terminus, with 141 Class locos nos. 142 and 166 backing onto their stock, which forms the 17.40 departure to Limerick.
On the right 071 Class no. 084 is waiting to depart on a train to an unknown destination (unknown to me, that is, not necessarily to the passengers!).
The dark clouds in the background contrast nicely with the bright late afternoon sunshine. There must have been a storm brewing!
At the time there were just 5 platforms, but the station has undergone some significant development since my visit and there are now nine.
