2nd June 1988 - Upton Scudamore, Wiltshire
Heavy freight up Upton Scudamore Bank, with 56037 "Richard Trevithick" on a loaded ARC stone train from Whatley Quarry, banked by 56040 "Oystermouth". 56040 would detach, or drop off, at Warminster, and return to Westbury. I could hear this train long before I saw it. It's just great to watch trains such as this working hard. Of course, The GM Class 59s put paid to this operation, handling the weight of a train on its own quite happily.
