Class 47/4 no. 47609 "Fire Fly" powers out of town on the 14.38 Poole to Manchester Piccadilly. It's passing a Class 423 (4VEP), no. 7707, which will form the 15.12 Bournemouth to London Waterloo.
47609 had a particularly unusual and attractive nameplate, which commemorated the former GWR broad gauge loco. The 47/4 was later upgraded for Rail Express System as their no. 47799 "Prince William", and was, as the name might hint, one of two "Royal" engines used to operate the Royal Train. It is now preserved by the National Railway Museum and I believe technically is main line registered still, although it has been in store for a long time.
