15th Sept 2001

Over the years I seem to have arrived at York station on a number of rail tours over the years! On this occasion I was on Pathfinder Tour's "Blythe & Tyne Meanderer", a fantastic day out from Bristol to Crewe, Carlisle, Newcastle, and a number of the lines around Tyne yard and Ashington, to York, and then home via Wakefield, Rochdale and Manchester Victoria, to Winwick Junction and the WCML to Birmingham, and then Bristol! A long day!. We had arrived at York from the north behind Class 56089, with Class 66 no. 66142 on the rear. Here the train is ready to leave after an hours stop between 14.00 and 15.00. I had better get back on!
