Tebay & Greenholme, Cumbria

Famous in the days of steam as the base for banking engines for trains needing assistance up to Shap summit. Now just the location of goods loops at the bottom of the incline, the neighbouring M6 kind of spoils the location. But the bridge taking the Kendal road over both the railway and motorway does give a fair view looking north. Greenholme is easily accessed by sneaking out through the back entrance of the northbound (Tebay) Westermorland Services. Nowadays it is less appealing for photography thanks to some very unsympathetic sighting and installation of palisade fencing.
