Uphill Slog! Digging in on the climb up to Shap Direct Rail Servies Class 66s nos. 66427 and 66301 pass Greenholme at 10.00 with the 4S43 06.16 Daventry (Tesco) to Mossend Euroterminal Stobart Rail/Tesco intermodal. Class 68s were expected, but '66 appeared instead, the old order for this train.

Photographing from the bridge here at Greenholme is no longer much of a pleasure, Network Rail having stalled ugly and intrusive palisade fencing over and around the bridge. But nevertheless I was pleased with this image despite the challenges, and with all conventional rules going out of the window shooting against the sun. But in black and white, and with that low sun accentuating the catenary and backlit train, the resulting picture a success I think.
