Severn Tunnel Junction, Monmouthshire
Once the site of a massive marshalling yard its significance has diminished considerably since the yard was closed and lifted, and the loco stabling point and depot, was closed in October 1987. Nevertheless it remains a great train watching location with impressive views of trains approaching from both directions, especially the long climb up from Britain's longest tunnel - the 3 mile plus Severn Tunnel under the River Severn.
