A few minutes after a Weymouth service had crossed it at Dorchester West station, where the double track ends and the single line north begins, this Pathfinder rail tour could get underway for the run up to Maiden Newton, Yeovil and Westbury.
This is "The Dorset Coast Explorer" rail tour, 1Z34 16.35 Weymouth to Burton-on-Trent, and the attraction is clearly a pair of Class 33s from West Coast Railway. Nos. 33029 and 33025 cross the River Frome, Poundbury, at 16.56. That very clean BR blue/grey BSK contrasts with the surprisingly bright WCR maroon (a colour that rarely looks good in anything but bright sunshine!).
