2008 Beer Festival & Diesel Gala: From the top of the cutting looking back towards Harmans Cross station, Class 73 no. 73107 "Spitfire" is seen at the platform, having just arrived with the 11.30 Norden to Harmans Cross.
I seem to recall that there was a bit of a fuss made about me, and a few others, taking shots from here, as it turned out that others had paid for a lineside permit for the same "privilege" to be there! The trouble was the gate was wide open and to the uninitiated it seemed like a perfectly legitimate viewing area. It sadly brought out an uglier aspect of these special events that really should not be encountered when individuals cannot find the courtesy to be polite. It slightly dampened spirits somewhat. But that said, I didn't move straight away.....
