This is a rarity - a Metropolitan-Cammell Class 111 two-car DMU. There were a few of these left in service in the mid-eighties. Powered by Rolls Royce engines they were converted to have just one engine per car and then ran with an unpowered car as a 2-car set. They were also numbered in the 78xxx series - this is 78966 & 78716. They are in the bay waiting to leave with a train to Morecambe. I'm on a week-long All Line Rail Rover, having broken my journey at Lancaster for some reason. Glad I did.
