13th April 2019 - Penzance & Long Rock Depot, Cornwall
Long Rock TMD Open Day: The future is here! Class 802 "Inter City Express" bi-mode unit no. 802008 is at the depot for its naming/dedication ceremony.

One end was unveiled as "RNLB Solomon Browne", the Penlee lifeboat lost in the disaster of 1981. The other end was named after Rick Rescorla", a man who grew up in Hayle, and after joining the British Army, emigrated and joined the US Army and saw service in the Vietnam War. He was remembered for his heroics at the World Trade Centre, when it was attacked in 2001, whilst employed as a security guard and he is credited with saving the lives of 2,500 people, although tragically losing his own.

First Great Western obviously have no wish to bolt proper nameplates to their trains, preferring instead to use the vinyl label method, adequate but not really classy.
