When the reservoir was created the Yeovil Road was rebuilt on this causeway across the left "arm" of the water, and being wide enough for cars to park, made stopping here an easy prospect. Standing on the edge of the road I take a shot of Network South East Class 50 no. 50048 "Dauntless" as it shoots by at speed with the 15.48 Exeter St. Davids to London Waterloo train, with a line of classic cars, as they would considered to be nowadays, lining the road opposite. There were a number of keen model boat enthusiasts running their craft to the left of this view at the time of my visit, and full sized boats sailing on the other side to the right. The railway station was located just slightly further to the right of this view, long gone by this time.
