(1) A sequence of 3 photos starts here. It's 15.52 and another west-bound UP autorack train is near Chamiso as it passes under the I-10 overpass, near milepost 1031. Laying down the power are UP units GP40 no. 5535, C30-7 no. 527, SD40-2R no. 3245 and former Southern Pacific Dash 9-4400CW no. 8167.

The train will be held at MP 1027.6 as there is a railgrinder working at Mescal and trains have to be routed around it (single line working in UK parlance!).
