EWS Class 37 no. 37695 pulls a short rake of refurbished bogie steel flats into the station. They had been in the repair shops at Tees Yard, in the background. Delivered in July 1963 as D6857, this loco became 37157 in 1973, and after conversion into a "heavyweight", was renumbered as 37695 in June 1986. It met its end at the Ron Hull, Rotherham scrapyard in April 2008.
