10th Sept 2017 - Bowling, West Dumbartonshire
This is what I set out to capture, the 6Y56 13.54 Grangemouth (INEOS) to Fort William oil tanks (oil in 4-wheel TTA tank wagons), passing through at 15.28, roughly 20 minutes down. The loco is Colas Rail no. 56094. When I had checked earlier on Freighmaster Interactive the reports suggested that the train engine would be 56302, but there must have been a last minute change of mind. Those of you who know me may know that 56302 has particular significance for me, so I was hoping to be reacquainted with this loco. Imagine my disappointment when 56094 turned up! Nevertheless, still a pleasing opportunity to see a "Grid" starting out on its run up the West Highland Line, on a service that may be ending soon, unless the experiment to keep oil services to the far-reaches of Scotland proves successful. Time will tell. By the way, that's the Erskine road bridge in the background.
