Bowling, West Dumbartonshire

Services here serve Balloch to the north, and to Glasgow Queen Street, and beyond to Airdrie & Edinburgh. I arrived at this station quite by accident really, intending to catch the Fort William-bound oil train one Sunday afternoon at Dunbarton Central. But the road was busy and time was running short, so I opted to dive off the A82 and nip down to this station here. I was later interested to learn that this station was made famous by Terence Cuneo, who produced a painting of a then-new Class 303 EMU - known as the Blue Train - passing a steam loco in the siding.
