The northbound Amtrak Auto Train makes an impressive sight as it powers through at 18.55. P42DC units 188 and 814 are up front. Apart from the many Superliner cars, I counted no less than 21 enclosed autoracks! The train runs over an 855 mile route, between Sandford, FL (near Orlando) and Lorton, Virginia (near Washington D.C.). On average the end-to-end journey takes 17 and a half hours.
