Beyer Peacock 2-4-0T No. 6 "Peveril" was built in 1875, and after withdrawal in 1960 has been a static exhibit ever since, being located variously at St. John's, Douglas, and finally at the museum here in Port Erin. It has been considered for restoration, so time will tell if this happens. "Peveril" was a character in Sir Walter Scott's novel "Peveril of the Peak".
