North Queensferry, Fife
The views south from this station are dominated by the massive steel structure of the Fort Bridge, opened in 1890. Looking north immediately leaving the station trains plunge into the 460 yard long North Queensferry Tunnel. This was originally a deep cutting but was fully enclosed to create a tunnel in order to keep a local landowner happy! Such was the way of the world back in Victorian times.
