Hatfield & Stainforth, South Yorkshire

This selection of images were taken during a very pleasant morning back in June 2001. Looking back, even now I am astonished as to how much has changed on our railways since I took these images. As I recall this was not the most salubrious of locations, and talking to the local and visiting photographers, who, by the way, were the most friendly and helpful bunch I could hope to meet, were somewhat surprised that I had arrived by car and had parked it in front of the station. Apparently they did not think that it would stay intact for too long! Their predictions started to look a little more likely when we observed a couple of local youths man-handling a motorbike across the tracks in between trains! Whether it was theirs or not we shall never know! Needless-to-say, everything went well and my car remained in one piece for the duration of my morning visit.
