Buxton, Derbyshire
Buxton is in the heart of the Peak District, and as far as railways are concerned, this is a hot spot for freight, heavy traffic being generated by extensive limestone quarrying. Sadly I have not explored this area much, but my first visit to the station itself, and the then-associated locomotive depot, gave me a taste of the extent of the rail-borne traffic in the area.
