Barnetby, North Lincolnshire

Most railfans will need no introduction to this well known location. For years it has been a hotspot for rail freight action and, until 2017, boasted some impressive mechanical signalling, all concentrated around the junction at Wrawby, just a short distance east of the station. This three-way junction is where the lines from Lincoln, Brigg and Scunthorpe converge, and apart from the one from Brigg, carry extensive freight in and out of Immingham.

Now that the character of the location has been altered by the introduction of MAS I look back with satisfaction that I was able to witness and record the railway here in the age of traditional operations.
