(1) Network Rail's High Output Ballast Cleaner train has been operating out of Taunton Fairwater Yard for over 2 months now. There seems to be plenty of weekend work in the Oxford area for the HOBC at the moment as the train has been sent up there on a Saturday, returning Sunday morning each since June.
At 12.16 Freightliner Class 66 no. 66953 heads for home at Wick with 6Y15 07.40 Wolvercote Junction to Fairwater Yard, a train made up of 20 YDA HOBC ballast hoppers, 1 IFA bogie flat wagon, 2 YOA Power Wagons, the DR76801 P&T Ballast Consolidation Machine and DR76503 HOBC Ballast Cleaner. That's quite a collection of complex machinery!
Bringing up the rear is Genesee & Wyoming-liveried Class 66 no. 66415 "You Are Never Alone.
