Cwm Mawr was a transloading point for a number of collieries in the area, the coal arriving by truck. It would be loaded in HEA 4-wheel hoppers for transport down the line to the Coed Bach Washery. On this bright and warm early spring day these HEA's are lined up in front of the loading plant.
