First time for me seeing this train, although a second visit for this 11-car HST set to the south west! The Locomotive Services Limited's "Midland Pullman" High Speed Train set heads west past Wick Bridge at 11.43 with the 1Z50 06.36 Peterborough to Kingswear (for Dartmouth) "Devonian Pullman" rail tour. Power car no. 43046 "Geoff Drury 1930-1999 Steam Preservation And Track Recording Pioneer" heads the train and no. 43055 is at the rear.
The Nanking Blue livery, without yellow ends, is certainly distinctive, but this is not the first time since the 1960s that this colour scheme graced Britain's rails. Some of us do remember FM Rail's attempt to run the "Blue Pullman" around 15 or so years ago, using Class 47/7s top and tailing air-con Mark Twos. That didn't end quite so well but that was also a distinctive train, although this HST set will almost certainly be providing superior accommodation.
