Overnight temperatures dropped to sub-zero, and made the night in the Mark I coach interesting! Once you were under the covers it actually wasn't too bad but if you are used to life's usual creature comforts, such as a warm room, for granted, then you might think twice about staying here in January!

At 08.38 Arriva Cross Country Class 220 "Voyagers" nos. 220011 and 220033 head north on the 1S31 06.03 Birmingham New Street to Edinburgh service. The sun rose at 08.14 and has yet to climb sufficiently to clear the track.
