Whilst waiting for a Weymouth-bound railtour, we had to first let this northbound get to Yeovil Pen Mill. It was running 17 minutes late: this and the railtour should have crossed at Maiden Newton. 150266 and 158766, both in GWR green, depart the halt at 12.11 on the 2E22 11.14 Weymouth to Bristol Temple Meads.
Just one person got off the train, none got on. The gentleman who stepped off, carrying a backpack, wandered up the platform, checked the train times, then wandered back, this time to the shelter. Once inside he cleared his throat with a few verses of a song I did not recognise, settled down, snapped open a can of beer, and probably drifted off in to a slumber on this fine summer's afternoon. I hope he caught his train for the next leg of his adventure. One train he did miss though was the railtour, the train I was waiting for: UK Railtour's "The Sunny South Express"....
