Preston, Lancashire

"Remember Preston?" I first visited Preston in 1983/4 on an All Line Rover Ticket, and recall there being plenty of traffic, and lots of locomotives stabled in the station environs. One loco spotted there was Class 25 no. 25257 and low-and-behold, a few years later and its flame cut number panel took up residence at my home! A funny incident at a Preston hotel with my friend Spencer will always bring a smile to my face too - shades of Faulty Towers comes to mind! Like a comedy farce, and numerous stair cases all leading to the same destination but leaving in opposite directions. Well, you had to be there!
