This Class 56, no. 56009, (one of the Romanian-built locos) resided here at Brush for many years. I believe that it was there as some sort of test bed and was painted into this unauthentic blue. I guess you could have presumed, understandably, that it would eventually be scrapped but only recently (2025) it has been reborn as Class 69 no. 69015! Who would have thought it? Class 47 no. 47322 (57002) and Deltic no. D9016 (55016) "Gordon Highlander" creep in either side.
