The large signal cabin at Claremorris was actually built in 1941 by the Great Southern Railway, replacing what I imagine was the original Midland and Great Western Railway cabin. It housed a 66 lever frame and controlled five routes! At the time of my visit it was surrounded by scaffolding and was clearly undergoing some refurbishment. But times caught up with the station eventually and all the old mechanical signalling was swept away in preference for Centralised Traffic Control (CTC). I understand, though, that Iarnrod Eireann have preserved the cabin.
