I just couldn't resist taking a picture of the crossing keeper's hut at Heck Ings! Located on a very quiet lane near Little Heck Common the gates seemed to be kept closed to traffic and opened on request, given that the road traffic is so sparse. In fact I believe that since my first visit the crossing is now pedestrian only. The hut has long since been removed I think but the crossing remains gated rather than converted to automatic half barriers, or similar. Love the lace curtains - a real homely touch!
