The 2N03 10.01 Ormskirk to Preston service has just crossed the level crossing and is slowly approaching the loop turnout at 10.07. Northern Class 156 no. 156461 provides the passenger accommodation. To the left is the Portacabin that passes for the signal box, which replaced the Victorian 'box in October 1988. This "modern" signal box is itself due to close once the level crossing has been automated.
